Reaching the higher level

What is Kundalini Tantra?

Kundalini Tantra is a path of Tantra Yoga that focuses on awakening the subtle energy body — activating the chakras and awakening Kundalini, the womb of the universe.

Definition
Kundalini Tantra unites the wisdom of classical Tantra with direct energy-based practices. It works to purify, balance, and awaken the body’s energetic pathways, guiding practitioners toward expanded consciousness and universal love.
Core Focus
The focus is on awakening the Kundalini- the subtle energy within - and activating the chakra system. This allows energy to rise freely through the spine while staying grounded in awareness and embodiment.
Methods and Practices
Practices include dynamic meditations that release blockages, chakra-activating yoga and pranayamas, energy circulation techniques, and heart to heart meditations that awaken the flow of universal love. Through these, body and spirit merge in presence and vitality.
Inner Experience
As Kundalini awakens, awareness expands, the chakras open, and energy flows through the nadis; the body’s subtle energy channels. This process brings deep transformation, emotional release, and an emerging sense of unity with life itself.
Purpose and Path
The purpose of Kundalini Tantra is not merely energy awakening, but the integration of that energy into daily life - living from the heart, with love, and expressing divine consciousness through human experience.

What is Kundalini?

Kundalini is not merely a serpent-like energy but the sacred womb of the universe — the source of all creation. When you awaken Kundalini, you connect not just with your inner energy, but with the universal life force itself.

Definition
In the ancient yogic texts, Kundalini is described as the cosmic womb — the origin of creation that lies dormant within every human being. It is often symbolized as a coiled energy at the base of the spine, but its true essence is universal consciousness waiting to unfold.
Connection to the Universe
To awaken Kundalini is to merge your individual awareness with the infinite intelligence of the universe. It is not simply about energy rising upward — it is about remembrance of your divine origin.
How to Awaken it Safely
Safe awakening happens through balance — grounding as much as you rise. Kundalini practices are designed to harmonize the nervous system, strengthen the body, and prepare the mind to hold expanded awareness without overwhelm.
How to Raise Kundalini
The awakening unfolds through the opening of the chakras and balancing of the two main energy channels — Ida and Pingala — which flow along the spine. When these are harmonized, energy naturally rises through the central channel, Sushumna, bringing clarity, transformation, and deep inner peace.

The Seven Chakras and Their Qualities

Though many chakra systems exist — some with five, others with twelve or more — the seven-chakra system is the most widely known today. Its popularity largely comes from modern psychology, where Carl Jung linked chakras to human archetypes and stages of consciousness.

Understanding the System
The chakra system describes subtle energy centers within the body that reflect both physical and spiritual dimensions of life. In truth, chakras are not physical organs but gateways of consciousness — mirrors of our emotional and energetic state.
Origin and Interpretation
Ancient texts mention many chakra systems — from five to over a hundred — each serving different meditative or energetic purposes. The seven-chakra framework we know today was popularized through Tantra and later adapted by Carl Jung, who associated each chakra with psychological growth and inner transformation.
The Journey
Rather than a fixed map, the chakras can be seen as a living journey — an evolution from fear toward love, from separation toward unity. As Kundalini rises, awareness expands, old patterns dissolve, and the heart becomes the true center of being.
The Seven Chakras Overview
1. Root Chakra (Muladhara): Safety, grounding, belonging - moving from fear to trust.
2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Flow, creativity, and emotional connection.
3. Solar Plexus (Manipura): Personal power, self-esteem, and transformation.
4. Heart Chakra (Anahata): Love, compassion, forgiveness - the bridge between earth and spirit.
5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Expression, truth, and authenticity.
6. Third Eye (Ajna): Intuition, clarity, and insight beyond the rational mind.
7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Union with the infinite - consciousness fully awakened.
True Awakening
Kundalini awakening is not about reaching the top or forcing energy upward — it is a soft unfolding of love through every layer of being. When fear dissolves into awareness, each chakra naturally opens, revealing the inner harmony that was always there.

Classical Tantra Yoga is a spiritual tradition that began in India and thrived between the 5th and 12th centuries. During this time, thousands of texts known as “Tantras” were written. The texts detailed various Tantric practices and included many long commentaries. The primary aim of these yogic practices and beliefs was to elevate consciousness, explore the nature of reality, and achieve spiritual liberation.

We teach the original tantric form of kundalini Yoga (as opposed to the invented Kundalini Yoga of Yogi Bajan) for Kundalini Awakening. It is powerful and transformative, with the potential for intense emotional and energetic experiences. The practices involve a combination of physical postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), chanting (mantra), meditation, and other methods designed to awaken and harness the energy of Kundalini.

Kundalini Yoga emphasises the use of specific sequences of movements, called kriyas, which are intended to produce specific effects on the body, mind, and spirit. These kriyas typically involve repetitive movements, dynamic breathing patterns, and focused meditation.

You’re more likely to feel your energy body awaken during a short retreat-often as a buzzing sensation around your body (aura) or in your chakras. This can intensify when your energy merges with others or the whole group. With continued practice, you may eventually experience chakra or even Kundalini awakening, felt as energy moving through your chakras or up your frontal channel.
